Rigging Hardware RFQ Checklist for Buyers

Use this checklist to send comparable requests for quotation for shackles, chain slings, lifting points and other rigging hardware.

1. Name the company and exact product

Include the supplier’s company name, the proposed contracting party, product link, model or part number and exact variant. A manufacturer’s product family and a platform listing may cover different configurations. Ask which one the quotation covers.

For example, a G209 enquiry should identify the supplier and nominal size. The Zhonghe G209 table links each size to its own source record; it does not establish equivalence with another supplier’s G209 product.

2. Keep numbers with their definitions

State nominal size, dimensions and units, required material or grade, finish and the intended use. Preserve the source wording where a unit is unclear and ask the supplier to define it. Attach drawings with revision numbers and identify the interfaces that must fit.

For a chain sling assembly, specify leg count, chain diameter, effective lengths, end fittings and the required load arrangement. Ask the supplier to confirm the applicable angle and conditions with its rating information.

3. Define the document and inspection scope

List the documents required with the quotation and with delivery. Identify the product, size or batch each document must cover. State any drawing approval, material records, inspection reports, traceability, marking and packaging requirements; request confirmation of availability and cost.

4. Make the commercial request comparable

Quantity and unit
Give the quantity for each exact item and distinguish pieces, sets and complete assemblies. Ask for the minimum order and quotation validity.
Delivery and destination
Give the required date and destination. Ask for the production lead time, dispatch assumptions, packing, trade terms and exporting responsibility.
Acceptance and open questions
State who approves drawings and inspection records. Keep unresolved model, unit or material questions visible in the request and supplier response.

5. Review the response item by item

Check that every quoted line names the same company, model, size and documents requested. Record exclusions and substitutions separately. A company-wide statement about export or inspection capability does not by itself confirm the terms of your order.

Browse supplier profiles and product families, then paste your procurement list into an enquiry.
