Electric Chain Hoist Specifications: A Buyer’s RFQ Guide
Compare electric chain hoists by an exact configuration row, then request the drawing, incoming power supply and documents for the offered unit.
Start with the model and configuration
A series name is an incomplete quotation reference. Record the manufacturer, model, capacity, size designation, reeving and speeds together, then add the required lifting height and mounting arrangement. A trolley, suspension or control option should appear as an explicit order item.
The Nucleon NHC ring-chain electric hoist record currently contains one reviewed configuration: Nucleon NHC 80 kg Size 1 configuration. The table below follows that exact row in Nucleon’s original NHC specification table ↗. It is an example for reading fields, not a specification for every NHC hoist.
| Specification field | Source-listed value | What the quotation should identify |
|---|---|---|
| Capacity and size | 80 kg; Size 1 | Exact offered configuration and corresponding nameplate. |
| Reeving | 1/1 | The ordered reeving and matching configuration drawing. |
| Hoisting speeds | 8/2 m/min | Both speeds and the supplied drive/control arrangement. |
| Mechanism group | M7(4m) | Applicable classification and the offered operating conditions. |
| Chain designation | 4*12 | Chain specification and its applicability to the ordered unit. |
| Dimensions | A 445; B 295; C 420 mm | Matching diagram, dimension meanings and drawing revision. |
| Mass | 24 kg under Weight(3m)(Kg) | Meaning of the 3m reference and mass for the ordered configuration. |
| Motor field | 0.1/0.37 under Motor voitage (Kw) | Corrected field definition and motor/nameplate information. |
| Incoming supply | Not established for this reviewed row | Voltage, phases and frequency confirmed separately. |
Control voltage does not establish the incoming supply
The same manufacturer page describes AC48V contactor control. That control feature does not establish the hoist’s mains voltage. Its motor-column wording also combines “voitage” with “Kw”; retain the unresolved 0.1/0.37 entry rather than relabelling it as a confirmed motor rating or supply voltage. These two questions remain open on the 80 kg Size 1 record.
Ask for incoming voltage, phase count and frequency in one group, and the control-circuit voltage and controller arrangement in another. Request the applicable electrical drawing and a legible nameplate or approved order specification. If the factory offers alternatives, each quotation line should show which electrical configuration it includes.
Compare the supplied scope, not the illustration
Request the lifting height, suspension type, trolley scope, pendant or remote-control scope, cable lengths and any site interface information as separate fields. List buyer requirements and supplier responses side by side. A catalogue illustration can help explain a layout, but an unlabelled image does not identify the delivered configuration.
Keep every dimension attached to the drawing it came from. Ask the supplier to mark the required mounting and clearance interfaces on a numbered drawing. Where a field remains unresolved, carry the question into the quotation review instead of filling it from a nearby table row or another model.
Request documents that identify this unit
Ask for operating and maintenance instructions applicable to the offered NHC configuration, an approved configuration drawing, chain and control details, and the inspection or test records required for the order. Record each document’s model scope, revision and serial or batch linkage. A general download or company certificate does not establish applicability to the selected hoist.

Use the configuration link when requesting a chain hoist quotation, so the supplier can respond to the same row. Provide operating requirements for the supplier’s technical review; this comparison does not approve a hoist for an application.
